Hearing Voices groups are a safe place for those who hear, see or sense things that others don't, to meet up with others who understand what they're going through. It offers them the opportunity to share their own experiences, find creative ways of coping with them and break through the isolation and stigma so many people face.
Fundamentally, they're about respect, understanding and peer support.
We currently have 4 aspects to our work:
London Hearing Voices Network
Between 2005 and 2009 we hosted a project that supported the development of Hearing Voices Groups across the whole of Greater London. We now support a network of around 41 groups, throughout London, working in partnership with a range of different agencies and individuals to do this.
If you are trying to locate a group within London please email: LVHN@mindincamden.org.uk and we will put you in touch with the nearest one to you.
Voice Collective
In April 2009, we launched an exciting new 2 year project to develop peer support groups for young people (aged 12-18) who hear, see or sense things that others don't. We are working in partnership with a range of organisations who already support vulnerable young people to set up, and co-run, these groups. To support this project we are able to offer some free training to parents and supporters.
If you are interested in coming to one of the Voice Collective Groups, or know someone who might be, please contact us.

Prison Project
We recently gained funding to extend our work into London prisons, developing their capacity to offer these vital groups to those who need them. Given the high level of mental distress and trauma found within the prison community, we are very happy to be able to launch this new service in April 2010.
Training
We offer a variety of training based on our expertise of setting up and facilitating groups for people who hear voices, see visions or have other unusual sensory experiences. We also have expertise around understanding and supporting people who experience psychosis.
As part of this, we run twice yearly a 4 day course for people interested in facilitating a Hearing Voices Group (free to experts by experience). Subject to resources, we can also offer a range of training aimed at those working with people who hear voices (of whatever age). Please contact us for more information.
