Mind in Camden manages three supported housing properties in the London Borough of Camden for people with mental health issues.
The main aim of the service is to encourage tenants towards greater independence and quality of life through rehabilitative work both individually and in groups, with people being supported and helped to move on to their own accommodation at the end of their stay with us.
The service currently offers:
- Safe, high quality accommodation for up to two years
- Housing support - enabling tenants to achieve and maintain good physical and mental health and to sustain their tenancy
- Involvement in planning their own support
- Group involvement in the management of the projects through weekly House meetings and review groups
- Support with daily activities e.g. outings, gardening etc
- Access facilities in the community e.g. leisure, training, college, voluntary work
- Accommodation in accordance with the principles of equal opportunities and a service that is nondiscriminatory
Where are the housing projects?
Flats are based in 3 properties in West Hampstead with 26 bed spaces in total.
One property offers the opportunity for people from BME communities to live together.
Staff are available at the project between 9.00am and 9.00pm. Outside these hours, Mind in Camden runs an emergency on-call service for tenants covering the evenings and weekends.
