Creative Workshops for Young People who Hear Voices

As well as peer support groups, Voice Collective also runs creative arts workshops for young people who hear voices, see visions or have other unusual experiences. Whereas peer support groups are weekly safe spaces for young people to share their experiences, our creative workshops offer a ‘one off’ opportunity to learn new skills and meet other young people from different parts of London.

Since the launch of the project, workshops have included:

  • Storytelling
  • Spoken Word / poetry
  • T-shirt design
  • Drama & scriptwriting
  • Campaigning & self advocacy
  • Animation (a special 5 day summer workshop)
  • Music

To find out about our next workshop, check out www.voicecollective.co.uk or http://voicecollective.eventbrite.com

Our next creative workshop – Make Some Noise – is on Saturday 20 July in Brixton, from 1.30 – 4.30pm. To find out more, download our flyer:

The following includes some of the images from our creative workshops, including t-shirts designed by young voice-hearers.

The following animation was created by a group of 5 young people (aged between 12 and 18) who took part in a 5 day animation workshop with Chocolate Films. The young people, who also attend our peer support groups, worked together to script, design, animate and edit this fantastic animation – calling it ‘A Little Insight’. Please feel free to share this with anyone, and everyone, you know.
