Crisis Support:

For anyone in Camden or Islington who is suffering an emergency mental health crisis, please call the 24/7 Crisis Single Point of Access on Freephone 0800 917 3333 or contact your usual community mental health team. Details of this service are here

Telephone and online support:

  • Samaritans: free and confidential telephone support 24 hours a day on 116 123
  • Saneline: out-of-hours mental health helpline offering specialist emotional support, guidance and information to anyone affected by mental illness, including family, friends and carers. Opening hours: 4.30pm to 10.30pm.  Call on 0300 304 7000
  • Help Hub – a free online therapy service starting soon. This website is being set up to support individuals who find themselves with limited contact due to the Covid-19 Coronavirus. Aims to be offering sessions from 30th March. Click here

  • Recovery College  – the College is not open but there are courses available online.  NEW Free Recovery College online course – Coping During the Pandemic .  This course has been developed for everyone in response to the recent global pandemic.  There is information about how to avoid catching/spreading the virus, what immediate feelings you may have and common reactions, managing your mental health at this time, managing isolation and social distancing, self-care, supporting children and young people and some accessible information.   • Covid-19 Mutual Aid UK – a group of volunteers supporting local community groups organising mutual aid throughout the Covid-19 outbreak in the UK. They focus on providing resources and connecting people to their nearest local groups, willing volunteers and those in need. Find your local group here
  • For older people – Camden Age UK has a support service which includes advice, telephone befriending and counselling, and emergency food deliveries. Please click here or call 020 7239 0400

  • Free hot food is available for pick up at locations around Camden from Food for All
