As with any charity, the support we receive from individuals and charitable trusts helps us to continue to provide our essential services. However, support isn’t all about money – we value any kind of contribution you may be able to make to our services or organisation.
Supporting our community. Developing future counsellors.
We’re offering a supportive clinical placement for trainee counsellors to provide weekly, one-to-one, time-limited counselling to adults in Camden, on Monday and Wednesday afternoons.
You’ll need to be in your second year or above of a BACP-accredited (or equivalent) counselling or psychotherapy training, eligible for a clinical placement, and available on those days for both client work and fortnightly group supervision.
In return you’ll get free fortnightly group clinical supervision, two CPD workshops a year, and a warm, reflective team supporting your development.
How to apply
Please send us your CV, completed application form, and a short cover letter telling us a little about yourself and your interest in joining Counselling at Mind in Camden.
Rather than a formal cover letter, we’d love to hear your reflections on the following:
- What has drawn you to becoming a counsellor, and what are you discovering about yourself through your training?
- What do you think helps a client feel genuinely safe, heard and understood in counselling?
- Tell us about something you have found challenging in your development as a counsellor so far, and what you have learned from it.
- What would you hope to bring to our counselling service, and what would you hope to develop during your placement?
There are no “right” answers. We are interested in getting a sense of you as a person and developing practitioner, so please feel free to write in your own voice. Please also let us know your availability on Monday and Wednesday afternoons.
Your cover letter should be no more than 600 words in total. Please send all completed documentation to counselling@mindincamden.org.uk.
